There are just some bands that come around and their sound is so unique that it has the power to stand the test of time.

Their sound, moving throughout the years with each new generation developing their own love for it, as well as old generations carrying it through and passing along their love to their kids.

With all the craziness that has been 2020, there has been some good that has come, and one of those good things is the recent news that an old and beloved rock band is back, and they’re ready to rock once more.

Our beloved AC/DC is back in black and ready to rock!

On September 30th of 2020, the Australian rock band released a photo throughout their social media platforms with exciting news- they will finally be reuniting.

Flowing throughout time as one of the most influential rock bands for- even for generations to come.

Throughout the ’70s AC/DC worked to become one of the most influential hard rock bands of their time, and they plan on doing it for generations to come.

The band of five consists of Angus Young as lead guitarist, Brian Johnson as lead vocalist, Cliff Williams as the bassist, Phil Rudd as the drummer, and Stevie Young as a guitarist.

Their accolades and achievements have also withstood the test of time.

As they’ve withstood the test of time they’ve not only accomplished a lot, but they have been rewarded for those accomplishments time and time again. After a mixing around of group members in the 1980’s the group started to receive nominations beginning in 1982.

In 2000, a municipality near Madrid named a street in the bands honor titling it “Calle de AC/DC” which translates to “AC/DC Street”. Then in 2003, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th. During this ceremony, they performed two of their greatest hits, “Highway to Hell” and “You Shook Me All Night Long”. They also received a Grammy Award 10 years ago for Best Hard Rock Performance for their song “War Machine”.

They’ve been rocking the world and rising in the ranks time and time again- without releasing albums.

Overtime AC/DC has rocked their way to becoming the ninth highest-selling artist in the United States and the 16th best selling artist worldwide by selling more than 200 million records across the globe.

Specifically, their hit song “Back in Black” has been estimated to sell nearly 50 million units globally so far, making it the third highest-selling album by any artist, and highest-selling by any band. They’ve been ranked fourth on VH1’s list of the “100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock” and were named by MTV the seventh “Greatest Heavy Metal Band of All Time”.

In addition, The New York Times reports that despite the band not releasing a new album since 2000, in 2007 they ended up selling over 1.3 million CDs in the US.

To say the least, they’ve accomplished a lot as time has passed.

Their unique sound in combination with the love from their fans has carried them throughout time and they’ve been rewarded for it. With all the craziness, stress, and devastation 2020 has brought, music has always had a special way of healing and providing a light in the darkness.
