Nothing is funnier than real love. That’s why Tel Aviv-based illustrator Yehuda Adi Devir creates hilarious comics about everyday life with his wife Maya.

Their romantic relationship is the subject of the “One of Those Days” comics.

“I think the reason people like ‘One of those days’ so much is because they identify with it and relive the beautiful [moments] that were important parts of shaping their own relationship,” Yehuda told Bored Panda.

One thing you won’t see in Devir’s comics is politics.

“It has no place in the comics. One of ‘One of those days’ goals is to bring people together, not keep them apart,” he says.

Devir says fans love the comics because they can see themselves in them.

“Viewers see their life through ‘One of those days’ and feel that they are not alone… There are other people somewhere in the world who are just like them, who experience ups and downs in their relationships [as well]. It gives [them] a sense of relevance,” he said.

Maya, who is also an artist, also helps out with the series.

“Usually after something interesting happens to us, we tighten the concept and do a few composition sketches,” he explains. “After that, I sit down and start working. When I do finish, Maya adds her suggestions for improvement, suggesting color, typography and so on.”

This process takes about a day or so.

The comic delves into what exactly it’s like to wake up next to the same person.

Day in and day out.

And what happens when your significant other undergoes a lifestyle change? For Devir, that meant that he would have to eat only green stuff while he watched his wife do yoga.

When you love someone making sacrifices like this are worth it.

And of course, a relationship means accepting someone and all their faults. Especially if one of those faults is your cooking skill. Or rather lack thereof.

Sometimes couples just want to kick back and relax. That can be a bit difficult if you’re sharing a tub. Or if you have a significant other who takes over the entire tub.

Being in a relationship also means teamwork.

Sometimes it takes two people to get a job done.

Somethings changing a light bulb isn’t always as easy as it seems.

Devir’s work also touches on other important things that make marriages work such as loyalty. That means vowing to never watch an episode without your spouse. And especially not five.

Marriages are also about the sweet moments between couples. Like sharing kisses. Even when it’s a duck face and you look ridiculous doing it.

Or getting down on one knee to propose. Which can seem like the most monumental moments in our lives. It definitely was for Maya.

For Maya and Devir, life is literally like a cartoon. They created side-by-side portraits for their “Birthday special” illustrations. And they are hilarious!
