Salsa duo, Paddy and Nicko, didn’t take home the top prize when they first appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014. But just recently they reappeared on The Champions show with a dance act so electrifying, one judge couldn’t resist slamming on the Golden Buzzer.

Fans are once again going crazy over the unlikely pair, which is made up of 40-year-old Nicko and his 85-year-old partner Paddy.

It’s a show-stopping performance you don’t want to miss.

Back in season eight of BGT is when Nicko (or Nico) and Paddy initially took the show’s stage. Of course, they were slightly younger then – with Paddy leaving everyone stunned revealing she was 79.

The judges and crowd were very taken aback by the pair, with Simon admitting, “This is weird.” It didn’t take long, however, for them to blow everyone away with their sizzling salsa act.

In the end, judge Amanda Holden was so impressed that she awarded them the Golden Buzzer. According to Fandom, it was the very first act to ever receive the prestigious honor – which sends the contestant(s) straight to the final rounds.

Their 2014 audition went viral and as of now, it’s been watched more than 72 million times.

Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions premiered in late August of 2019 featuring some of our favorite performers from the past 13 seasons.

As reported by the BBC, contestants from other versions of the show around the world will have a chance to compete as well. Another unusual dance duo is also expected to make a return – the Greek father and son team Stavros Flatley!

During a recent episode, the crowd went wild to see Paddy and Nicko back under the spotlights. They were dressed in glittering pink costumes and were ready to show everyone that age is just a number, and to not judge a book by its cover.

Within moments they had all jaws dropping with their acrobatic salsa moves. Nicko picked up petite Paddy and rolled and flipped her around like she was light as a feather, but tough as nails.

Fun fact: Back in 2009, Guinness World Records announced Paddy as the, “Oldest acrobatic salsa dancer.”

The judges were obviously loving the dance act, as you can see it in their lit-up faces. Next came a move that left everyone awestruck.

Nicko picked up Paddy by one arm and one leg, then began swinging her around in a circle like she was a flying Superman. Can you believe what she can still do at 85-years-young?

Because the dance performance was so incredible, in the end, it had everyone jumping to their feet for a standing ovation. Not only are they a talented duo – but they’re an inspirational act as well, proving it’s not too late to chase your dreams.

Judge David Walliams believed Nicko and Paddy were deserving of more than just a simple “yes.” He tells them,

“There are very few acts you could watch with a smile on your face and tears in your eyes. Because this is one of the most joyous, most beautiful, most life-affirming acts we’ve ever had on Britain’s Got Talent.”
