With so many things going on these days, it’s hard to find a place where you’d feel safe. Even if you’re inside or near your property, awful things can happen.

A 6-year-old girl was riding her bike around her neighborhood.

Prentiss Weatherford was right outside his home when he saw the kidnapping incident. And right after seeing what happened, he quickly jumped into his own car and went after the man.

Prentiss wasn’t able to catch the suspect.

However, he was able to get the last three digits of his license plate. He was also able to take note of the type of car the man was driving and told the responding police officers about the details.

Police were able to find a car that matched the descriptions Prentiss gave.

Within 30 minutes, they were able to arrest the man.

It was 40-year-old Robby Wildt. Although the kid was found in his car, he pleaded not guilty to the crime.

The child, on the other hand, was crying loudly in the car. She kept asking for his dad and it’s just heartbreaking to hear a kid cry like that. You can easily tell how afraid she was.

In an interview with Inside Edition, they said:

“It was extremely important. The partial plate and the overall description of the car, which was really specific, we were able to find that vehicle because of that.”

Because of what he did, people consider Prentiss a hero.

One YouTube user said:

“Man this guy is the ultimate hero he literally gave that lil girl the chance to grow up and have a future!!!πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ”

Another one commented:

“That little girl would most likely be dead if not for this guy. So glad his life led him to be there at the exact moment he’d be called upon to act.”

There was also this person who said:

“Good for him. You don’t get many people like him trying to do something to help and save someone. He was in right place at the right time.”

A YouTube user also shared:

“Omg this made my heart race! That guy is a hero & I’m so thankful for him for saving the little girl. My heart breaks for the little girl 😒, she must have been so scared. As for the kidnapper….I hope you rot in prison & then in hell 😑”

Prentiss is thankful for the people who think of him that way.
