How would you like to have your own bar in your backyard?

Sounds pretty cool, right? But pricey. That is, unless you build it yourself!

Paul Nowak from Sheffield, England decided to build his own bar using nothing else but pallets!

Doing so, cost him next to nothing to build. He saved a hefty amount of money by using discarded pallets and other material. The total cost for his stylish-looking bar was only $112.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed at the thought of labor, don’t be. Nowak said it only took him a couple of days to put the bar together.

To his credit, Nowak has built things before and has a love for woodworking.

“I always loved woodworking, and sometimes I still wonder what would have happened if I took it up professionally after leaving school. I do decking for friends and family, but this is the very first bar I’ve built. However, it’s just the first of many bars, I hope.”

The bar is perfectly placed near the jacuzzi and trampoline.

“I always wanted to make a home garden bar as we spend family time in the garden.”

Nowak details his process in a post he wrote for Bored Panda.

“I got most of the materials I needed all for free: the pallets and crates cost absolutely nothing.”

But he did express that while he was able to get most of the materials for free or cheap, he did have to spend a bit on other products, such as paint.

“However, I did need to spend some money on the roof (that was around 40 pounds or 50 dollars), the paint (around 30 pounds; 37 dollars), and some odds and ends. A good mate of mine owns a pub, so he gave me some beer mats and other things for free.”

By the looks of the finished product, one may not even be able to tell that this was a one-man endeavor. The bar looks professionally built and really well manicured.

Nowak even has draft beers set up to make the bar look, well, more like an actual bar.

When he posted photos of his bar on Facebook, it went viral almost instantly after it was shared on “Extreme Couponing and Bargains.”

“My friends and family loved my project, and it’s been amazing how people have reacted to my bar online. I’ve already gotten over 47,000 likes and 75,000 comments. All I need now is a sponsor or a business to help me keep this going.”

He may get his wish.

Nowak has already caught the attention of Celtic Marches Beverages. They liked his bar so much that they sent him enough of their beverages to stock his bar!

Nowak was still coming up for the name of the bar but it sounded like he was leaning towards “The Voyage.”

The name pays homage to a favorite holiday destination in Turkey.

Sounds pretty fitting to me! The bar looks like the perfect escape.
