The world is full of some pretty amazing talent just waiting to be discovered. Fortunately, there are shows on TV that can help launch deserving individuals into lives of stardom – all while we cheer from the sidelines.
It was during an episode of Talang (or “Sweden’s Got Talent”) that 10-year-old Eva Jumatate became one of those lucky contestants. But little did the judges or audience know they were in for a performance they wouldn’t soon forget.
Eva was ready to shine.
The entire room sat hushed waiting for the young Romanian girl to showcase her talent on stage. All of this changed, however, the moment the first lyrics fell from her mouth.
People couldn’t help but applaud when Eva began singing, “Never Enough.” It’s a song that won hearts in the movie musical, The Greatest Showman – and it was apparent that even the Got Talent fans had a love for it, too.
One of the most incredible parts was that Eva belted out the song in English, despite being a Swedish show.
“Never Enough” is a spine-tingling ballad that was written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for The Greatest Showman. The film was loosely based on the life of P. T. Barnum and how he created the Barnum & Bailey Circus.
But it was Eva’s rendition that had everyone awestruck.
Immediately the judges were captivated by the girl’s voice. Their reactions became more and more expressive as time went on, a telltale sign that they were impressed by what they were hearing.
There are some performances that can leave your skin covered in goosebumps. For Eva, she really grabbed a hold of the room when she reached the high notes.
“Never be enough. Never be enough. For me…”
Eva’s rendition was so powerful that you could see the judges become overwhelmed with emotion. One judge, Swedish singer Bianca Ingrosso, seemed especially moved. She had tears in her eyes as she watched the youngster perform.
This was only the beginning.
When Eva’s performance came to an end – the crowd roared with excitement, and the judges rose to their feet for a standing ovation. It was now time for them to decide if Eva would be moving on to the next round of the show.
With a huge grin on her face, the 10-year-old listened to the judges as they responded to her cover of “Never Enough.” Although you’re unable to tell exactly what they’re saying unless you speak Swedish, it’s very obvious they shower Eva with praises.
Then came time for Bianca to share her thoughts.
With an excited tone, the judge starts by passing on her positive reaction. However, then it gets even better – with Bianca slamming her hand down on the Golden Buzzer!
Gold confetti begins falling onto the stage on top of a very stunned-looking Eva. After all, receiving the Golden Buzzer is the biggest dream of any contestant. It meant she would go straight through to the semi-finals.
The judges weren’t the only ones who loved her performance.
When Got Talent Global shared Eva’s audition on their YouTube channel, viewers were quick to post their positive comments as well.
“Best interpretation of this song at such a young age. Amazing voice!”
Another person wrote:
“Wow! Stunning – I was in tears. Absolutely beautiful.”
