Retired Men Delight Crowd With Comical “Synchronized” Swim Routine
They certainly put on quite the show. I have to say my favorite part was when they all popped their legs up in the air.

They say that laughter is the best medicine. Fortunately, at one retirement community – there was plenty of it going around because of a “synchronized swimming” performance put on by a group of residents.

It’s a hilarious act that’s been spreading joy across the internet. There’s a reason it’s been viewed more than four million times!

Who says that seniors can’t have fun? Nobody.

Retirement years should be one of the best portions of a person’s life. After saying goodbye to the job and having the kids fly the coop – hopefully, there’s less stress and more time for fun!

In the video below, six older gentlemen treated everyone at their retirement community to a skit no one will ever forget. They needed an Olympic pool, some swimsuits, and of course, goggles.

BUT…since the performance was taking place indoors, a pool made out of blue plastic would have to do. Actually, it’s part of what makes this act so comical.

Time to pop some popcorn and let the show begin.

Nobody could keep a straight face as the seniors filed in wearing USA tank tops and swim caps. They headed back to their “pool” as the Olympic theme song, “Bugler’s Dream,” played in the background.

Suddenly, the music switched to “Ave Maria” and the men lifted their arms in the air. Then, they took their first “dips” into the pool.

It looked just like a synchronized swimming performance! Well, besides the missing water.

The men pretended to perform graceful moves in the pool, which had the residents cracking up. They even took turns swaying their arms until they formed a human chain.

Shortly in, the skit went to a new level of hilarity.

When you think of synchronized swimmers you might have a vision of a bunch of legs popping out of the water. The pack of seniors made sure to do this too – just get a glimpse of those gams!

They moved with ease through their water ballet routine. Although they made it look simple, don’t think that the real sport is.

On the Team Olympics site, athlete Mariya Koroleva explained:

“When people watch synchronized swimming, it looks really easy. But we’re not supposed to show that we’re tired, or that we need air or that our muscles are burning. It’s supposed to look effortless.”

She continued, saying:

“I don’t think people realize how much time it takes to match every single position. In a team routine, it probably has a couple hundred — maybe even a thousand — movements. And you’re not just synchronizing one or two people; you’re synchronizing eight people. Right down to where your pinky finger is or how straight your knee is.”

These guys may not be real Olympic swimmers, but they sure know how to put on a show. Only theirs is a performance that had the internet busting at the seams.

Every good act needs a grand finale and these seniors didn’t disappoint.

They started by leaning their bodies back in a group circle, then dipped forwards into the water. For a moment you couldn’t see what they were doing…

Finally, the men emerge and they’re lifting one member up in the center with their arms. And in his hands? A pair of American flags, of course!
