He spun her around so fast I don’t know how she didn’t get dizzy.

It’s amazing how swing dancing has been making a resurgence lately. In 2019, the old school dance style is more popular than ever, as evidenced by just how big this year’s Rock That Swing Festival in Munich, Germany was. For five days and nights, both newbies to the genre and seasoned veterans alike gathered to swing and boogie their butts off.

While all the acts were pretty incredible, no one had us more impressed than older couple Dietmar and Nellia.

When they first stepped to the stage, we didn’t really expect much. However, as the saying goes — never judge a book by its cover. They called their routine “Never Stop Jiving” and as soon as the music started, we immediately realized how special they were.

The song they chose to dance to was “Music To My Ear” by Speck & Doyle.

It is a track from the early 1950s and represents the swing dance genre perfectly. It is the perfect tune to boogie to. For talented dancers like Dietmar and Nellia though, it might even be considered a little too easy. They actually sped up the tempo of the song a little bit to increase the difficulty, and we have to say, we were definitely impressed. Their footwork was insane!

Dietmar spun Nellia around so fast and frequently that your average person would have simply gotten dizzy and passed out.

However, Nellia never lost her balance once.

The whole time, both of them smoothly boogied around the stage with giant smiles on their face.

It looked like they were having so much fun out there.

“Experience the exuberant feeling of the Swingin’ Forties and the Rockin’ Fifties. Hot sizzling nights let you spectate at stylish people with cool attitude dressed up in vintage clothing, petticoats or suits,” the RTSF event website reads.

Now that sounds like our kind of party!

And it seems Nelia and Dietmar must have gotten the memo about the outfits. Nellia dawned a classic floral printed dress, and Dietmar, a bodacious blue suit. They blended in with the crowd perfectly.

The outfits, coupled with their amazing performance had us feeling like we stepped back in time to the 1950s.

However, back then, the two dancers would have barely just been born. Dietmar is currently 70 years old and Nellia 64. While that puts them a little late to have been swing dancing back at the peak of the genre’s popularity, they’re certainly making up for lost time now.

Their age had zero effect on their ability to bust a move.

They say dancing keeps you young, and after watching these two swing around the stage, we’re inclined to believe it.

“You don’t stop dancing because you got old. You got old because you stopped dancing,” one YouTube user commented.

Dietmar and Nellia proved without a doubt that it doesn’t matter what age you are, you should never let a random number stop you from doing what you love. All in all, the beautiful performance was one of the most incredible swing dances we’ve ever seen.
