If you remember the tiny girl who stunned the world back in 2007 with her “Britain’s Got Talent” audition, hold on to your hat. Connie Talbot is 19 years old now, and she’s still singing.

Talbot rose to fame in 2007 as a six-year-old.

Walking onto the stage to face the wrath of Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan, she delivered a performance of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” that Cowell called “pitch-perfect.”

“Connie, I only have one question,” he said, after telling the then six-year-old that he was going to talk to her like an adult. “Was that really you singing?”

Not only was Talbot the singer that blew the judges away — she was also the start of child stars on shows like “Britain’s Got Talent,” inspiring hundreds of other children to audition and show off their skills.

Talbot was signed to a record label, then had her contract canceled, then got another contract and released five albums.

That’s all water under the bridge now. These days, Talbot is a charity ambassador and continues to sing, often releasing videos on her YouTube channel.

One of her most recent videos, a cover of Elton John’s “Rocket Man,” has stacked up more than 200,000 views since its release at the beginning of June.

The song perfectly showcases Talbot’s honey-like vocals and impressive range.

Since she performed a cover of “Someone Like You” back in 2011, many people have compared her voice to another British singer, Adele. But never has the comparison been truer.

Talbot accompanies herself on the piano. She sings effortlessly and with enjoyment. It’s simply amazing how easy she makes singing one of the most famous songs of the 20th-century look.

Talbot’s video coincides with the release of “Rocket Man,” a musical biopic of the start of Sir Elton John’s career.

“I was very lucky to be one of the first people to see the movie, “Rocket Man,” at the premiere in London,” said Talbot. “Elton John is an absolute legend.”

Talbot’s warm vocals pay a beautiful tribute to the song and to her idol.

The song, released in 1972 on John’s album Honky Château, is widely considered to be one of the most popular of all time. In 2018, the British Phonographic Industry gave it a gold certification for achieving 400,000 digital downloads. It was also listed as one of the 500 greatest songs of all time by Rolling Stone.

It’s been covered by many other artists since its release almost 50 years ago. Included is Kate Bush, who paid a tribute to John in 1991 with her album “Two Rooms: Celebrating the Song of Elton John and Bernie Taupin.”

“From age 11, Elton John was my biggest hero,” said Bush.

“I loved his music, had all his albums, and I hoped one day I’d play the piano like him (I still do). When I asked to be involved in this project and was given the choice of a track it was like being asked ‘would you like to fulfill a dream? would you like to be Rocket Man?’… yes, I would.”
