I didn't even know it was possible to make a children's toy sound like this.

There is talent hiding in every nook and cranny of this little place we call Earth.

It’s not just the biggest rock and pop stars that are able to put on an amazing show. There are folks out there who may deserve the spotlight, but just haven’t pursued it or found their big break quite yet.

There are people that can belt with the best of them, play the drums as cleanly and creatively as the best, croon on a clarinet as well as any symphony orchestra musician. The fact that there is so much undiscovered and underappreciated talent can sometimes even get a little bit overwhelming.

Since the dawn of the internet, though, it’s been easier and easier to find new, fresh talent, and for talented folks to showcase their abilities to wider audiences. YouTube is an incredible platform for musicians, comedians, and all sorts of other talents to put their content out there in the hopes of getting discovered.

Sometimes, though, these talented folks put up videos just for fun, or for the enjoyment of their friends and family. These are often the videos that take off in the biggest way. That may be in part due to the fact that we as humans react more to genuine joy and the most honest performances. If it’s just a fun jam with a friend shot at 3 am at a Walmart for pure fun, the rest of us are going to wish we were all there to witness the fun in person.

That’s exactly what happened with singer and songwriter Clay Shelburn.

When he and his buddy Zac Stokes headed to their local Walmart for a late night errand run, they saw a perfect opportunity for fun.

With a teeny toy guitar, Shelburn gives the most incredible performance of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s “Pride and Joy” in the middle of the Barbie aisle.

This man’s skill on the guitar is truly amazing.

The way he makes that child’s toy sing is so incredible, it’s hard to imagine how good this would sound on an expensive instrument.

But the thrown-togetherness of this rendition is what gives it so much soul.

You don’t need anything fancy to sound amazing, not if the talent is there, to begin with.

He and his pal switch off on the verses as the camera haphazardly films the whole thing. There aren’t any spectators there to witness it in the flesh because, well, it’s 3:00 in the morning, but that’s another thing that makes this so fun. These guys were goofing around for an audience of Barbies just for the fun of it.

Millions of people have watched the YouTube video since it was posted at the end of last month, with more and more rolling in each day. Hopefully, this bout of attention will help boost Clay Shelburn’s music career. It seems like it’s working so far, with lots of brand new comments on his photos and posts on his Facebook page.

This is what I like to see – real musicians with true talents getting places the honest way. Shelburn really proves his talent on this little guitar made for children.
