Ever since the COVID-19 ordeal has started, a lot of parents have been stuck at home with their kids. They have no choice but to work at home while keeping an eye on them.
If you’re one of them, you know that it’s not easy. It’s probably fun but it’s definitely arduous. If you would see some parents’ situation, you would get an idea of how hard it is.
Well, we prepared 50 photos showing how some parents have been dealing with quarantine while they’re trapped at home with their kids. Some of them are astonishing and totally funny!
1. Quarantine getaway
For this dad, he shared the look of his tiny quarantine getaway where he could relax once in a while. He shared this on the tweet of his fellow dad who has managed to create his own quarantine space, too.
“love what you’ve done with the space. So important to have that special quarantine getaway #toddlerlife”
2. “Send help”
“At what point do I become a negligent parent in this? #parenting #quarantine #sendhelp,” the uploader of this photo wrote.
3. The manager
The manager is showing the new employee how things are done in his office. He’s so committed with his work that he’s literally on top of everything. It’s a good thing that the new hire doesn’t mind being micromanaged.
4. Not-so-fun bonding moment
5. Beating homeschool boredom
These kids decided that roller skating is more fun that homeschooling. Well, no one can blame them for their choices. I’d probably skip my lessons for roller skates these days.
6. A call for help
This parent is clearly having a hard time. Unfortunately, it’s too late for her. Nobody can help her since everyone else is on quarantine.
7. Bored
This is a win-win situation for the dad. Apart from letting his kids engage in mental exercise, he also got some peace and quiet at home. I wonder how long it took for the kids to strip those gadgets and rebuild them.
8. Shadows
This isn’t a scene from a horror movie. It’s the new office view from this person’s house. It’s distracting and creepy at the same time.
9. Up to something
This was taken on day 10 of the quarantine. It looks like this kid is nearly done with whatever she’s up to. She’s got the sign and all the participants in place.
10. “Quarantine Schedule”
“Other folks are sharing their schedules so I wanted to share mine. I am available for life coaching services,” she wrote.
At first look, it’s just an ordinary timetable but once you read each activity, you would surely laugh out loud. Undeniably, all parents need this thing.
11. The haircut
Being on quarantine means not being allowed to leave home, even if it’s just to see the barber. It was a good thing that this kid has a good sense of humor. If it was me, I would have cried a river after seeing my hair like that.
12. Spying
It must have been surprising for this kid to find out that his mom wasn’t really at work and that she’s actually working from home. I guess it won’t be long before the locks on those doors are breached. The kid looks so focused on getting to his parent.
13. Do kids have a thing for toilet paper?
In this photo, it looks like the little girl was about to eat it. Oh, no please!
14. Working from home
This parent probably went a bit too far in making sure her kids don’t bother her at work. Well, I guess this is better than leaving them in one room to fight and argue with each other. At least, she’s still able to “look after” the girls.
15. Day 2
It’s just day 2 and the TV is already broken. I wonder how the entire house can stay safe and whole in the days and weeks to come.
16. The couch
It looks like the couch is getting a makeover. It’s time to forget about the brown leather and welcome the green paint. The kids are also painting the pillow to get that nice put-together look.
17. A good way to repel kids
Tired of your children always barging into your office? This parent has a clever solution. Just get a piece of your underwear and hang it on the door knob. Your kids will probably run away as fast as they can after seeing it.
18. Painting the new floor
This kid surely had a lot of fun painting the new floor. Unfortunately, the same thing can’t be said for her mom who had to scrub the floor for hours. I wonder how long the kid was left unsupervised.
19. The fort
Kids can still have fun even if schools and sports are cancelled. The trick? Create a fort in your living room, just like what this parent did. It’ll surely keep the kids busy for some time.
20. Expensive toy
This parent bought the kids $100 worth of Lego toys. However, instead of the expensive toy, the kids found the cardboard box and tin can more entertaining. They’ve spent several hours playing with them than the Lego toys. I guess not all children are into expensive toys.
21. Social distancing is vague for kids.
22. DnD campaign
Some games are just complicated for kids. As a parent, you need to be creative and think out of the box. This parent’s modified DnD campaign, for example, is doing well in keeping the kids busy.
23. The new teacher
This photo just proves that kids can pay attention to their class if they like the teacher. See that boy? He’s even raising his hand!
24. What working out with kids look like
This man is nailing parenting during quarantine. He’s not just entertaining his kids but he’s also able to work his muscles. I’m just not sure if the headband was necessary.
25. Taking a break
This is how this kid spends his from his homeschool activities. He’s standing there like he’s already weighing all the life choices he made the last couple of years.
26. Giving the toilet paper rolls a bath
While a lot of people are struggling to get some toilet paper rolls, this kid decided that they aren’t that important. She threw every roll in the tub, along with her toys.
27. The horror
This kid doesn’t like having a dirty home. On the second day of the quarantine, she decided to clean the sofa with toothpaste. I guess she just wants to keep things fresh in the living room.
28. Oh, no!
29. Mud
I think it’s good that this parent is letting her kid explore . During quarantine, your kids’ devices and gadgets aren’t the only things they can be busy with.
30. Heartbreaking
This parent probably struggled in buying those toilet paper rolls. It’s heartbreaking to see them all get soaked in the bath like that. Next time, he better keep them in a higher spot at home or he can just lock them away.
31. “Day 1 of being furloughed”
“My sister posted this on Facebook, 1Day 1 of being furloughed: threw away the kids!’ With the #vegasshutdown, thousands of people are stuck at home, so it’s nice to see a bit of lightheartedness in the dark!”
This joke can really make anyone laugh out loud especially those parents out there who know how challenging it is to be with kids at home every day. The fun and the struggle is real.
32. Shower and snack time
“Quarantine has me hiding in my shower with ice cream so my kids don’t steal it!”
So if you want to grab a bite of your comfort food but you don’t want your kids to catch you, then you can do this.
33. This says it all.
34. Homeschooling
Trying out something for the first time can be stressful, particularly if you aren’t prepared for it. Just take this parent as an example. Based on her kid’s narration, she’s clearly struggling with homeschool.
35. “I’ll allow it.”
Just like this mom – who shared that her parenting style is “I’ll allow it”. That’s why when her little one was already “tattooing” early in the morning, she just allowed it.
36. Someone’s not happy
In this house, the parents aren’t the only ones struggling. The cat looks like it’s having a hard time, too. It’s literally trying hard to survive.
37. Accurate
Being on isolation is hard. Being isolated with kids can be twice as challenging. To increase your tolerance, you might want to take a look at this graph. You might learn something from it.
38. Day 1 of homeschooling
39. Dad set the bar high.
40. A team at work
As they say, two heads are better than one. I guess these two will finish work faster than usual. Let’s just hope the father doesn’t end up with pain in his neck and shoulders after their work is done.
41. Homeschooling scenario
42. “Quarantine day 6”
43. “Quarantine Day 3: This is fine. We are fine….”
44. A different kind of Monopoly
I’d say this one’s a genius. This parent is teaching her kids about discipline and working hard in a unique way. This will probably keep her children busy during the quarantine.
45. Magic Trick
“So, my daughter did a magic trick with our last TP roll…”
46. Super mom
“My wife is handling the kids being home from school like a champ.”
47. Hungry
“My 5 year olds teacher asked us to take pictures of our kids with One word that expresses their feelings during this time.”
If you think that your kids feel the same way, it’s a must to keep the pantry full.
48. Playing dress up
Her children convinced her to wear her wedding dress at lunch. She found no reason not to. I’d happily do the same thing- if only I can still fit into it.
49. Working with a superhero
This mom was working from home. Out of the blue, her kid popped up from behind her wearing a Spider-Man costume. He was whispering “Can you hear me breathe?” If I were her, I’d probably have a hard time focusing.
50. Toilet paper, again.
